Christmas Spirit

Merry Christmas everyone! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday, I know I did! :) It was a short time at home, I was only able to come home for about a day and a half, but it was a good time with great company! We had a fun time opening gifts and a giggle-filled dinner!! First, we went to Annie's on Christmas eve. We opened presents and then had dinner with lots of good company. Then I helped Annie set up her new iPod and we watched White Christmas :) Then Christmas morning brought more presents and smiles with Dad and Chris. A yummy breakfast and a nap took up most of the day. Then another yummy dinner with tons of people over!! Steph got to join us for Christmas dinner which was nice since she couldn't spend it with her family. Then Steph and I headed back to Chico for work today :( So Christmas is over, no more holiday music on the radio, no more anticipation for the big day and back to the daily grind.

finally the end of the year...

so this year's end is bittersweet for me. i am done with finals this semester and i'm getting a lot of hours at work so that is a relief and a blessing. my personal life on the other hand, is falling apart. my bf and i broke up and its killing me! i still love him and i hate being apart from him. i tried dealing with it by staying in my sweats and not getting out of bed for a day or so, i tried watching tv and hanging with my roomie (which did lift my spirits a little), i tried getting drunk and swearing him off (that did not work at all!).so i am at a loss, i dont know what to try next. so my holidays r a little less bright this year without him. and i only get a couple of days off work so i wont be home for that long, which is a definite bummer! it doesnt feel like Christmas when im not home for the decorating and the baking and all the fun Christmas stuff. oh well, i will try to make the best of it. im excited to see the fam! i need their support right now! im so grateful to have all of them!

long time, no post...

Wow, it's been a while since I've posted anything. So here's a quick update. Got to see a bunch of the fam a few weeks ago when we took a little trip to AZ. It was so great to see everyone and get some quality time with nana and gramps, aunt vicki, caleb and crystal. Then it was back to school and trying to catch up on the missed week of school. Then break for Thanksgiving. I had to stay in Chico for a few days to work so I only got to go home for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday morning. Not really a break...and it didn't feel much like Thanksgiving either. Maybe because I didn't have the whole week to relax and spend time with the fam and all that. It felt more like a weekend at home, and an AMAZING meal. Good food and good company, could you ask for anything better? So then it was back up to Chico for Black Friday night shift, and it was so slow! BORING!! Whatev...easy money! Today, I set up some Christmas decorations and listened to Christmas music for a while. Then I realized how much school work has to get done in the next 3 weeks, so I'm kinda freaking out right now :)

I love this time of year! I love shopping for my friends and family and I can't wait to see their faces when they open gifts Christmas morning. I love the spirit of this time of year. There is so much to be thankful for...the cooler weather that reminds me that Christmas is coming soon, the time spent with friends and family, the wonderful Christmaas music, the warm and nostalgic feeling I get when I see Christmas lights and trees all decorated. It reminds me of better days when we were all together for the holidays. This year is going to be very different. For one, Heather will not be home this year. She and Adam are going to spend the holidays with her new inlaws. She will be missed more than she knows! I probably won't be able to come home for long because of work, so that is going to make a difference too. Also Mom is in Redding so we have to split our time wisely so we can see everyone :) I want to wish everyone Happy Holidays and I hope they are just like the ones you remember from your childhood (those always seem to be the best ones :)!) I love you all and wish you the best of holidays!

I just got back from Arizona. My great Uncle Joe passed away, so we took a little family trip over to Arizona for the funeral. It wasn't a happy moment, or event, but we had a great trip. We got to see some family that we haven't seen in about 13 years so it was nice to catch up. It was great to see Aunt Anita again! She looked great. The last time I saw her, I was probably 7 or 8. My dad got to catch up with some of his cousins too. We got to spend some good time with Nana and Gramps which was amazing, as always! We got to see my Aunt Vicki, my cousin Caleb and his new wife Crystal. It was nice to see the fam again and to get the opportunity to spend some quality time together. And of course, there was a tractor ride involved! That was a good moment. It just makes me feel like a kid again :)

Now its back to the daily grind of school and work, but I'll manage. Only a few weeks left til Christmas break, and I cannot wait! I'm trying to get everything squared away for next year and apply to Sac State. I probably won't be in Chico (or as Caleb calls it, CA-HICO) next semester. I'll move home and work and save up my money for grad school. It will be nice to be home again and reap all the benefits of living at home...home cooked meals, a warm house, no bills, rent- free! I am so lucky that I have a family that will support me and care for me! I love them all deeply and am so grateful for all that they do for me! :)

So I went to San Jose on Friday to take a tour of the campus and to get a feel for the area so that I would be prepared when I go there in a couple years for grad school. It was a nice tour, pretty nice campus, and lovely weather! All in all, it was a good trip.
Last week was absolutely crazy! My tests went well I think. I know one of them went really well, I aced it! I'll have to wait and see about the other ones. I have another test this week...physiology! This is the one I am really nervous about.
So overhaul isn't going so well. I need to get re-focused and back on track. It's really hard to do by myself, especially when midterms, and studying, and life get in the way!
Anyways, I think that is enough for now. I'll write again soon :)

Crazy Week Ahead

This week is going to be long and stressful. But i get to go home this weekend andI'm going to San Jose for a campus tour. So I just need to keep my eye on the prize: a nice weekend at home! So this week I have a geography midterm, an anatomy lab exam, an anatomy lecture exam, and a physiology outline to write. WOW! I'm not sure if I can make it...But I have the house to myself this weekend and the weather will be chilly so it makes for perfect conditions to stay inside and read! woohoo...not! Anyways, I'll keep you posted on how the week is going. Gotta get back to studying :(

Hello old friend...

Ok, so I know it has been a few days since I've blogged. I think subconsciously I was avoiding it because after day 1 things fell apart a little bit. But I'm back and ready to get things under control. I have been busy with school this week and haven't made it to the gym since Monday. I know, it's bad. And this weekend I am going home so I won't be going to the gym again til next week. I am trying to come up with other ways and places I can work out so that I am not restricted to the gym. If you have any suggestions I will gladly take them.

Btw, I LOVE my anatomy class! Lab is the class I actually look forward to during the week. I wish I had lab everyday. My instructor is awesome and I really like the material. We started dissecting cats today. It was a little sad and a little gross but also an awesome experience. It was kinda cool and I was so excited about it I came home and called my dad and told him all about it, like a little kid coming home from kindergarten lol. It was awesome tho.

Btw, I also LOVE my boyfriend! He is so sweet and kind and supportive and handsome and...the list goes on and on! I can't believe how lucky I am to have found him and to be able to be with him. He is my rock, I don't know what I would do without him. He is so sweet and so romantic he doesn't even know it! He knows just what to say to make me laugh or wanna cry (but a good cry :)) or put a smile on my face after a bad day. He is just amazing! And I just wanted to let everyone know (this is me shouting it from the rooftops)... I LOVE GINIO! :)

Day 1 of overhaul

So day 1 went great! I went to class this morning and then to the gym. It felt great to work out, it has been a while :( Anyways, then I came home and I cleaned the kitchen and did some laundry. All in all it was a very productive day. I am very excited and I feel great! I hope I can keep this up :)

overhaulin' my life

Ok, so tonight I realized that I am way too comfortable with my current situation. I have been very lazy the last couple of weeks and I have not necessarily been eating the best food either (which is harder than it sounds when you are a very poor college student). I need to be more motivated and I need to be whipped into shape! I need someone "looking over my shoulder" and making sure I make good decisions. I am in the prime of my life and I want to feel like I am in my prime. Instead I feel huge and lazy and boring and these are feelings that I do not want to feel anymore! So here it is, my overhaul plan...

1. go to the gym, at least 3 times a week (give me a break people. I am just starrting out, it is impossible to expect me to go everyday).
2. try to eat better and eat smaller portions, there is no need to "keep up" with anyone!
3. think more positive thoughts.
4. write down my feelings so I don't internalize them. I am an emotional eater so...ya that's what got me in my current situation.
5. remember, food=fuel for the body so put only good stuff in and you will get good stuff out! :)
6. be more active with my school work. Stop procrastinating!
7. be prepared for every test, quiz, assignment for the rest of the semester.
8. go to every class, every day!
9. spend more time outside soaking up that delicious (and free!) vitamin D :D
10. put more effort into my school work, don't just do the bare minimum.
11. try not to swear as much, it's not very lady like :(
12. take more interest in myself and where I am right now and where I want to go in the future! This is my life and I am the only one that can control it!
13. LOVE MYSELF, inside and out :)

Ok, there it is. And if you see me and I look like I am not following this plan, yell at me or kick my butt into gear or do something to help me get motivated again! I thank you in advance and apologize for any snide comments I may make while you are attempting to motivate me. It's time to get my butt in gear and start feeling like I'm in the prime of my life!!

hola fellow bloggers!

Well, here it goes. This is my first blog and I am not even sure of what I am doing. But whatev, I thought it would be fun to have a blog of my own. Nothing really exciting ever happens to me, so this blog might not be that interesting to read. But hey, if you don't like it, don't read it :) I am pretty sarcastic...just so you know. I love the small town feel of Chico but I don't think I could live here the rest of my life. Good thing I am only here for school. I want to move on to something bigger and better and spread my wings. I'm looking into Sac State or San Jose State for the rest of my schooling. Not really sure where I want to go yet. And I now that Sac isn't really spreading my wings but at least I will be able to see my family and my bf everyday. And that's important to me. I'm looking forward to what the future has in store for me. I am VERY excited for the awesome upcoming holiday of Halloween! I am going to be a roller derby girl with a few of my friends one night, then I'm not sure yet what I want to be the other night. I have a few options, it kinda depends what my bf wants to do...if he can even come up. Anyways, I think that is enough randomness for now. I will update you if anything cool happens...don't hold your breath tho! lol :)
